Several sixth graders from Lawrence Middle School were among nearly 160,000 students worldwide to participate this year in the Math Olympiad program. They participated in a series of monthly contests and weekly practice sessions under the supervision and coaching of Mrs. Risi. She taught the students how to solve unusual and difficult problems and to think creatively.



Ms. Berry’s class went on an incredible class trip to Horse Ability, an equestrian farm dedicated to working with students with special needs. The students learned how to groom and ride horses. This was such an amazing experience!


Congratulations to our Lawrence Middle School students that attended the Mathematics Tournament by the Sea at Long Beach Middle School. Students used their problem solving skills to work collaboratively on challenging mathematical problems. Thank you to Ms. Karvelas and Ms. Kampton for preparing the students and attending the event!


Teacher Appreciation Week was from 5/6/19-5/10/19. The Administration at LMS celebrated Teachers and Staff by throwing a Fiesta on Friday 5/10/19. Our Teachers and Staff are the backbone of the school and deserve to be celebrated everyday! Thank you for all you do.





On Friday, May 10, Lawrence Middle School honored the Gold Honor Roll recipients. Gold Honor Roll students earned an overall GPA of 95 or above for Marking Period 3, quite the accomplishment! Students enjoyed musical performances, a debate, and dessert to honor their success.




The LHS PTA Grad Card Drive has begun! For a contribution of $3 PER CARD, graduation cards will be sent in your name to all graduates you select. Students receiving these elegant cards will be congratulated and informed that a donation has been made in honor of their graduation.



Mrs. King (7th ELA) attended a Professional Development that revealed how virtual reality simulators can be used in the classroom. She created a Donors Choose, whichGoogle then sponsored her and awarded Mrs. King and her class over $2,500 worth of equipment. Way to go Mrs. King!


Save the Date! Thursday, May 16th will be our Lawrence Middle School STEAM Fair. Come celebrate all the creative and innovative inventions students created throughout the course of the school year!

Time to celebrate spring and work on your Baseball Skills!! Varsity Baseball is hosting a Baseball Clinic on Saturday, 4/6/19 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on the LHS Baseball Field. It is open to any boy or girl in Grades 2-8 and cost $15.00 per student! Come join us for a fun day!!



Due to the NYS ELA Assessment on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, there will be no X Period today or tomorrow. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest and to eat a healthy breakfast the day of the exam to help them perform their best!

The Baseball Clinic is back!!
Please join us as the Varsity Baseball Team hosts a fun and exciting Baseball Clinic on Saturday, 4/6/19 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the LHS Gym. It is open to any student in Grades 3-8 and cost $15.00 per student. Come support the Baseball Fundraiser and improve your skills!



Thanks to the combined efforts of LMS staff and students, we raised $1,408 in the Iron Giraffe Challenge! These funds will positively affect the people of Sudan through the Water for South Sudan organization. We are now entered in a contest to meet Salva Dut. Wish us luck!
