The Hundred Hurdle
Lawrence Middle School Celebrates the 100th Day of School
LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (February 2022)—Lawrence Middle School celebrated the one-hundredth day of the school year on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Teachers were encouraged to incorporate the number 100 into their curriculum for the day's lessons. Dressing up as your 100-year-old self, 100 things you’ve learned this year, and 100 movements were all suggested as activities to commemorate the day.
To celebrate how far their students have come, teachers organized tasks involving the number 100 such as dividing 100 of a specific item, such as coins or dollars, into groups of five, ten, and twenty, and providing a visual display. Other teachers demonstrated how much their students have learned this year by showcasing their students’ newfound knowledge on a ‘100 Days Smarter’ wall.
