LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (|OCTOBER 2026)— Lawrence High School is proud to announce the official opening of its newly renovated weight room—a project that began last year with the goal of creating a safer, more modern, and more functional training environment for students and athletes.
“It took a while to come together, but I am very excited for this weight room to be available to our students,” said Angela Matinale, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. “The renovation was driven by the district’s commitment to providing our students with the best opportunities to reach their full potential.”
The new facility will not only support athletic training for Lawrence High’s sports teams but will also serve as the foundation for new weight training physical education classes. These classes will provide students with opportunities to learn proper lifting techniques, build strength, and develop lifelong fitness habits. Coaches and staff are equally enthusiastic about the upgrade. The new space will give teams a safer, more efficient environment to train.
