Earth Day Celebrations!

Even though Earth Day is an annual event that is celebrated each year on April 22nd, the students at Lawrence Elementary School learned how taking care of our planet requires more than just one day!

Ms. Beach, Ms. Beckmann, and Ms. Cromartie visited various classrooms throughout the week to read books like The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of Gambia by Miranda Paul, and 10 Things I Can Do To Help My World by Melanie Walsh.

The learners in our school listened to read alouds by guest readers, close read nonfiction texts, completed research projects, and interacted with local animals!

*Ms. Kampton and Ms. Fowler took their sixth grade students to Rock Hall to plant flowers and engage with the animals!*

*Ms. Hurwitz and her fourth graders learned how each person on this planet has an impact on the Earth and when we join together like the pieces in a puzzle, amazing things can happen!*
