The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that students be assessed once in high school in ELA, mathematics, and science. Therefore to comply with the federal requirement, if USDE does not approve the assessment waiver requested by NYSED, only the Regents Exams below would be administered in June 2021:

We will be offering an in-person Saturday Math Academy at Lawrence Middle School with a focus on the Algebra I curriculum, New York State Algebra I Regents preparation and hands-on scientific calculator support. Please review the schedule below for a list of session times and dates.

New York State Grades 3-8 ELA & Mathematics Test
Please be advised that in April and May, our students will be administered the New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests to assess their current levels of performance. Due to COVID, New York State has made some changes to the test format. The ELA and mathematics New York State tests grades 3-8 will be single-session tests. Tests have been reduced in length by the removal of the embedded multiple-choice field test questions.
Full Remote Students
Since NYSED is not allowing for students to be tested in a remote environment, we would like to offer the opportunity for our fully remote students to participate in the testing here at the 195 Broadway Campus on the assigned testing days. Your child will need to be dropped off prior to the test and picked up at the completion of the test.
So that we can carefully plan, please let us know if your child will be participating in NYS testing by filling out the Google Form by clicking the link below. Requests must be made by Friday, April 16th, 2021 at 1:00pm. If you cannot fill this form out, please call the LMS main office at (516) 295-7000 to put in your request.
